1. Wholewheat Honey Chocolate Chip Pound Cake: dark chocolate chips, stone-ground wheat flour and a touch of honey lend a surprisingly sophisticated air to this recipe. Plus, learn a technique for enhancing the flavour of wholewheat flour.
2.Pumpkin & Lemon Pound Cake: roasted pumpkin puree and fresh lemon zest infuse this ultra-moist and tender pound cake. Yummy simply served plain, it can also be dressed up with a tangy lemon-juice glaze and toasted nuts.
3.Black Sesame Pound Cake: a pound cake made without egg yolks or butter? Absolutely possible – this recipe is instead based on cream and egg whites, so that nothing interrupts the fragrant intensity of freshly ground toasted black sesame seeds.
4. Gula Melaka Kopi Susu Pound Cake: the combination of coffee, gula melaka (coconut palm sugar) and cream gives this satisfyingly rich and sturdy cake a deep flavour – perfect to serve for morning break or tea-time.
