Malaysia is a hub of different cultures, each of which have brought in different flavours to create a distinct and vibrant cuisine. The best way to learn about the culture of a country is of course, through its food. Chef Devagi unveils the hidden epicurean treasures of Trengganu and Kelantan.

Menu

1. Nasi Dagang

A popular Trengganu rice dish also known as Trader’s Rice, made with glutinous rice, fragrant Jasmine rice and other ingredients steamed together.

2. Gulai Ikan Tongkol 

There is nothing better than Gulai Ikan Tongkol to eat with Nasi Dagang! Flavourful curry with Mackeral Tuna fish.

3. Sotong Hitam Manis 

Sweet and tangy black ink squids often sold as street food in Malaysia. These tender grilled squids are usually served together with rice or as an appetizer.

4. Kepak Ayam Goreng 

Spicy, irresistible, marinated and floured chicken wings served with a special sesame chilli sauce

5. Achar Buah 

Sour, sweet, sticky, appetizing dried fruit pickle that can be used for sandwiches and burgers too
