A long time ago, in a kampung probably not that far away, an ingenious cook invented kueh sarlat – and this beautlful, rich and royal double-decker dessert has become a bright star in the Peranakan kueh repertoire. If you find the lack of good kueh sarlat out there disturbing, join Christopher and learn how to make your own!


1) Classic Kueh Sarlat

Christopher’s all-new recipe for traditional sarlat, with a rich pulut (glutinous rice) topped with smooth pandan and coconut milk egg custard.

2) Sarlat Terbalik

Surprise your guests with an ‘upside-down’ sarlat - pandan-infused glutinous rice, topped with a white coconut milk pudding marbled with bunga telang (blue butterfly pea flower).

3) Durian Sagu Sarlat

Springy sago pearls partner a rich durian custard for this extra decadent kueh sarlat variation.

Maximum of 12 participants.

Demonstration by Chef.

Food Tasting

Participants will sample on all the demonstrated items.

Take Home Items
