Chinese New Year celebrations aftermath calls for less rich tasting dishes that we can make easily at home with simple ingredients. Chef Shih Erh shares 3 such comfort dishes.  

Menu

1. Cai Boey (菜尾)

This amazing spicy and tangy stew incorporates all the flavors of roast meats, stir fried vegetables and mustard greens. It's a perfect dish to make with all the leftovers from a big feast. 

2. Ngoh Hiang (五香)  

This all time favourite side dish needs no introduction. The key to a delicious Ngoh Hiang lies in the proportion of the many ingredients in the meat mix. Come and learn from Chef Shih Erh a fail proof version that you can make over and over again. 


3. Peranakan Birthday Noodles (Lam Mee)

Lam mee is a traditional Malaysian Peranakan dish symbolising longevity. It consists of yellow noodles in a delicious gravy made from a blend of prawns and pork. The dish is served with pork ribs and prawns and several other condiments. The one ingredient that completes the dish will be a home-made belacan which you will learn how to make from scratch as well.

Take Home Items

Participants will take home a recipe pack and a takeaway portion sample all the food items. Zoom participants can collect onsite or arrange for delivery at a small charge.
