Cooking with cast iron ware is a solid part of American heritage cuisine. Saddle up your pans, fire up the stove, and rev up these classic American recipes with Asian ingredients and influences, for an exhilarating ride through new lands of flavour.


1) Speedy Pulled Pork in Tamarind BBQ Sauce

An easy stovetop version of pulled pork bathed in a tangy tamarind, tomato and molasses barbecue sauce, this is juicier, more succulent and much faster to make than traditional roasted-for-hours pulled pork.

2) Buttermilk Herb Chutney Buns

A golden ring of pull-apart buns made with a turmeric-infused buttermilk dough, streaked with a fragrant coriander, garlic and sesame chutney, and baked in a buffet casserole until crisp-crusted and pillowy.

3) Tomato, Strawberry & Radish Salad with Mint Dressing

A simple and refreshing salad to accompany the above dishes and complete the meal.

4) Pineapple & Lime Upside-Down Cake

Luscious caramelised fresh pineapple crowning a tender butter cake infused with kaffir lime and vanilla, made in the traditional American way – in a cast iron skillet.
