You don’t have to settle for ready-made fruitcakes, desserts and puddings this season – learn how to make your own! Christopher’s new and lipsmacking recipes have full-on flavour but won’t weigh you down.
1. Pear & Almond Sugee Loaf
Classic sugee cake given a luscious French-style makeover with chunks of juicy fresh pear and a touch of lemon in its buttery crumb, baked in a loaf pan for convenient serving.
2. Chocolate Date Walnut Cake
Fudgy, fruity and nutty! This satisfyingly treat is hearty but not heavy and only lightly sweet, yet deeply, darkly flavourful thanks to cocoa powder, dark chocolate chips, and both dates and date molasses.
3. Mini Christmas Puddings
If you find commercial puddings too dense and intense, this is the recipe for you – their soft and citrusy crumb shares star billing with liquor-soaked dried fruit and pecans, all without being cloyingly sugary. These are also far easier to mix up and faster to cook than traditional Christmas puds.
