What’s better than a butter cake with a delicious flavour? Why, a butter cake with two different flavours baked together of course! Level up your cake game (literally) with Christopher’s straightforward recipes for inspired and innovative combinations.

1. Blueberry, Lemon & White Choc Chip Cake
A lower layer of blueberry batter studded with white chocolate chips, topped with an upper layer of lemon-scented batter, and the whole cake laden with fresh blueberries. Altogether berry satisfying!
2. Pandan & Sweetcorn Pound Cake
Pandan and corn are a match made in aroma heaven. Here a top layer of cornmeal butter cake with fresh sweetcorn kernels rests on a bottom layer of pandan cornmeal cake. Only fresh pandan is used, to enhance the subtle nutty sweetness of corn.
3. Pulut Hitam Almond Cake
An unexpected combination which is simply scrumptious – soft, moist pulut hitam (black glutinous rice) butter cake, topped with a crunchy, sweet-salty layer of golden caramelised flaked almonds.
